How to Customize Any Icon in Windows 10 (or 11) - Create icons
I have several icons that I would like to store in my icon cache instead of in a separate folder. I unchecked "Don't show hidden folders" and "Hide protected operating system files and folders" but I still can't find them. Where is Windows hiding them? This thread is locked.

Icons are stored in many places throughout Windows and applications. You'll have an easier time searching on the internet for the icons you like. To see the icons inside shell Then select the 'Change icon' button and you'll see all the other icons that are available for that shortcut.
If none of those appeal to you, you can navigate to shell You can actually do this with many libraries in addition to shell However, the icons themselves are not separate files so you can't copy-and-paste them. Searching the internet to find them is a better choice.
